Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are having to use technology much more frequently to interact and connect. The Zooms, Facetime and WhatsApp allow us to ‘see’, however, this form of communication does not fulfil our human need for ‘touch’.

The significance of tactile sensations, and an awareness of the position of our bodies in space combine to form our sense of body ownership and presence, which in turn, intimately traces the way we emotionally connect. When this is disrupted, we become disorientated, eluding our consciousness of what is and isn’t bodily present
