Often in small towns and always exploring the everyday, Saxon’s quiet photographs find beauty in the quotidian. Often gently humorous, they are nonetheless warm and without condescension. Stylistically, there is something very British about Luke’s work which runs far beyond the fact that he makes most of it in his native Rochdale and other northern towns.
Luke has a degree in photography from the University of Central Lancashire. His work has been shown widely, including at Touchstones Rochdale, The Whitworth in Manchester, The Fishing Quarter Gallery in Brighton, The Photographers’ Gallery in London and Manchester Contemporary.
