Read on to find out a bit more about Sarah’s work in her own words…
My work is best described as minimalist architecturally informed geometric abstraction informed by the built environment, but more specifically the sculptural and architectural forms of early civilisations. My mission is to decode the built/objective environment and our relationship to the founding forms of our material world. I try and understand the deeper subtext or meaning within shape, geometry, and form and what they mean to us on a spiritual and psychological level. I also seek to understand the meaning and language of the materials that we use
to realise these forms. I believe that we can break down the material world and constructs into a form of a basic universal language that goes beyond the practical and that holds a deeper significance.
My most recent work is in
relief printing and sculpture, but I also work in collage and illustration/technical drawings.
