welcome to our two newest studio members

29th July 2023

A warm welcome to our two newest studio members @em.techy and @salford.esk !!

– Emily Ayre (@em.techy )

Emily Ayre is a visual artist, from Merseyside. Formally a resident at PAPER gallery Manchester, Emily’s work attempts to create unity between the Modernist era and the Post-digital discourse. Predominantly her work features portraits of those closest to her, with affronting gazes, disproportionate limbs, glistening wet tongues and bold clashing colours.

Emily graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art and film at Lancaster University and an MA in Contemporary Fine Art at the University of Salford, where she has since stayed and established roots as an artist there.

– Stew (@salford.esk )

esK is a combined arts artist from Little Hulton, Salford, exploring notions of ‘community’ through various forms of research-based creation.

Through his practice, he has developed visual, audio-based and tactile works, usually working in series.

In 2022, he established an open-plan studio, ‘The Yoghurt Labs’, and curated 2 exhibitions with these artists and others from across Greater Manchester.

esK has exhibited work across Salford and Manchester and in 2023 had his first international exhibition at SUPERMARKET in Stockholm, Sweden.

We’re so excited to welcome them both and can’t wait to see what they get up to!
