Originally Polish, living and working in Bolton, Karolina Zglobicka (b.1988) explores the balance between meaning and explanation, vision and gesture, word and unspoken thought.

Layering again and again, removing and adding to the composition erratically, the artist freely explores the contradictions of materiality and colour within her work.

With visible liquidity in the way in which the paint is applied to canvas, she uses white as a neutralising aspect to the works – a personal form of eradicating what is deemed unsatisfactory or unnecessary.

The alluded landscapes and forms in the works shown juxtapose the use of white as a base as a medium to alter the presence of colour within the canvas.

Her paintings are in private collections in the United States, Germany, England, Israel and Australia.
