Cottonmouth is the name of a snake. It also refers to having a very dry mouth. The sky has a toothy bulge, colours are hot and highly pitched. These are ways of thinking about landscape as though perceiving it through the lens of mental or physical distress.
The strike of a snake refers back to physicality within printing processes; the strike of a squeegee and the pressure it inflicts over the screen bed.
A lavender wisp of smoke or water indicates friction in a warped reality where something so light might have the strength to push back at the sharp yellow of the backdrop. Both components wrestle for the limelight.
